Usually, actresses have to pretend to be with child to fit their roles. But some have managed to coincide their own pregnancies with those of the characters they play. So here, we take a look at some of the best fake and completely real pregnancies that we’ve watched unfold on our screens.
40. Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up
Knocked Up stars Katherine Heigl as a mom-to-be who falls pregnant after a one night stand with immature baby-daddy, Ben (Seth Rogen). And while many parents may sympathize with Alison’s attempts to get her life together before the arrival of her child, Heigl wasn’t one of them. The actress first became a mom in 2009, two years after Knocked Up hit screens, when she adopted her daughter, Naleigh. She adopted her second child Adalaide in 2012 before giving birth to son Joshua in 2016.
39. Julianne Moore in Nine Months
Romantic comedy Nine Months follows the story of a couple whose relationship is on the rocks after discovering they are expecting. The 1995 flick stars Hugh Grant, whose character isn’t prepared to become a dad. Meanwhile, Julianne Moore plays his pregnant long-term girlfriend. At the time of shooting the film, Moore wasn’t carrying a child. She did, however, welcome her first baby just two years later, and a second in 2002.
